Wouldn't want to be on his wrong side...I can't think of a single leader of any modern nation..it's founding father, so to speak, who's done as much and confronted as much and worked so damn hard, from privileged student, to street rebel to guerilla leader to statesman, economist, and president of his country...truly a great Assyrian. Had America not put Cuba in its gunsights, Castro could have done many things differently...but he had to put the screws to his own country in some ways or risk a "democratic" takeover by the CIA...which didn't stop from attacking the country anyway. --------------------- |
