>The question "How do I benefit personally from the Qurbana?" might be answered best if we first ask ourselves another question, "What do I need help with?" This is not always the easiest question to answer, but the liturgy itself spells out the specific needs it intends to address in its prayers, and it repeats these needs several times: remission of sins, a clear conscience before God, the hope of resurrection, and new life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Each of these benefits is prayed for, not just for some abstract "humanity", but for each and every participating worshipper. It is healing of the brokenness of our condition that the Sacrament is administered for.

..oh give it a rest. Three monks scratching their beehinds 2000 years ago are hardly news. It all comes back to faith...you actually BELIEVE this stuff. Fine. But the turth atill is that no one else does. Your eastern church attracted very few and all these years this "truth" of yours has hardly impressed anyone...but it's in the West that we see the REAL significancxe of what these sorts of religions do...that's where you have the majority and THAT's where you murdered people into this nonsense...a nonsense you are PLEASED to have swallowed with your daily meat...go ahead, enjoy. But the Christians killing the world are NOT you...you people are a mild diversion....may you live in health forever....

>“For all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23) Who but the most hardened hypocrite does not feel pain at his own shortcomings and sins?

...I suppose that means if you accept yourself and your sins you must be a hardened hypocrite? Who BUT a hypocrite wouold presume to wrap everyone up in HIS own crimes? There is no such thing as SIN...there are human laws..and if you break them you pays your price...that's all. The consept of sin has allowed you people to introduce EVIL...and it has been brought to us by YOU.

...It has taken centuries but we've removed your filthy hands from our legal codes....people slide back once in a while..usually at times when unscrupulous politicians try to use this crap for a smokescreen...but each time we come back to our senses and toss you and your sins out. We have to go a little further each time...this time we have to remove your tax status..you are NOT a religion..you are a political party of god hiding behind a religion. You cause far more death, misery and destruction and cost to society than any ten tobacco companies ever did...you people COST the rest of us billions of dollars...not just in lost revenue but in direct penalties....the "charity" you give away, as a percentage of your gross, amounts to far less than casinos give away to keep people coming back.

What conscience is so callous that it fails to recognize the anguish we inflict on one another through our indifference or forgetful neglect of moral responsibility? Can anyone say that, because he is a Christian, he no longer is subject to the failures of being human? It is to Christians that St. Paul writes, “For it is God, in Christ, who has reconciled the world with his majesty, not imputing to them their sins. And he has placed in us our word of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, and, as it were, God beseeches you through us. In behalf of Christ, then, we beseech you, be reconciled to God, for he made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for you, that we may be made in him the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:19-20)

...thisd all presupposes that ahyone believes in Paul. Okay...it's YOUR fantasy...go for it. But there should be laws keeping you from teaching this stuff to children..let them decide on their own when they can. We don't need Gods...our laws will do..and in relity secular law trumps god every time...so we know which is the greater.

The Christian man or woman, having been reconciled to God through Christ, must continue to strive to make that promised state a reality in his or her personal life in this world. He or she must face up to the failures that beset the course of life, and the brokenness which recurs with every sin of omission or commission along the way, and "be reconciled to God."

...yawn.

>God gave to the Apostles, and through them to the Church, the ministry of reconciliation. This ministry is exercised regularly, whenever the Church meets together at the place of reconciliation, before the Altar of God. There it prays for forgiveness and cleansing. There it offers the counsels of love and forbearance. There it reaches out to offer the kiss of peace, succors the ailing, and draws to itself the alienated and confused. There it calls to renewal and reconciliation all who feel broken by sin. And there it offers the hope of resurrection and new life in God and in his Kingdom. The benefit personally is great, for there we have the opportunity to participate in all these things ourselves, to be a part of that healing and reconciliation. There we can fulfill this ministry of service to which we are all called as members of Christ's body.

...right. Five out of work Jew fishermen dreamed all this up and you can find NO better way to live your life! Well...LOOK at it!!!
>
>At the center of this ministry of word and deed is the Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ himself. Jesus said, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he shall live for ever. And the bread which I will give is my body, which I give for the life of the world.” (Jn. 6:51)

..he is living BREAD? Honestly...you have to get reamed at an early age to swallow this kind of bread.

What we come to Qurbana to receive and give is possible only in Christ and through his Self-offering. Forgiveness, healing, hope, reconciliation--all these Christ conveys according to his promise to each and every believer who in true faith partakes of his gift of himself. This gift of himself is the first and greatest benefit of faithful attendance at Qurbana.

...that changes nothing...you sound like Hannibal the Cannibal waxing profound over a cadaver for lunch. No matter how much garnish or sauce you add to the dish...and there was this same mystical bullshit every time you Jews slit the throat of a cow...or your firstborn sons..no matter how you dress and serve it...that FACT...not the bullshit on the menu..the FACT is that you people eat human meat and drink human blood...and these two acts are among the most condemned and disgusting things the world has ever known....besides which Jesus never said any such thing..he is far more likely to have asked his followers to plant a flower in memory of him...this bloodcurdling stuff is what you people MADE of him..one more animal led into your abbatoir of a temple to have his throat slit...and like all sacrificial animals..you ate him and drank his blood as the gravy you ate your lambs with. The whole thing is as disgusting as can be...but since it's all mother's milk to you...you find it exhilarating...which is why you want to bring back abortion and vote for Bush..you people LOVE human gore..you can't get enough.
