...you don`t have to know the "truth" to know this story of Pat converting Ireland by chasing out snakes is a lie...the usual big one the church used to hide its crimes. All you have to know is how rich a culture the Irish had...else why would Pat have to steal from it...all you have to do is imagine ANY culture and the people of it, steeped in their own myths and traditions and what the liklihood would be of them all dropping it for a Jew import from a desert hellhole they never heard of? Would any Christian drop everything to run after another religion and culture? They`ll say, "well of COURSE not" and mean by that that the IDEA of anyone ever leaving CHRIST is ridiculous to even contemplate...but that anyone of any other religion would of COURSE do such a thing. The Irish were brutalized into Christ as was everyone else who ever came in contact with the Roman army...and later the Christian armies of Europe. Snakes!!! --------------------- |
