This interesting...this is where a clear head and some basic reasoning skills come in handy...and this is also why religion is so important...it tells people not to trust Logic or Reason. The guy claims his religious beliefs have to be respected...that is true. It's like a conscientious objector to war...he or she cannot be forced to do things that go against their convictions. But I doubt if anyone drafted this guy into the Pharmacy. It would be like someone JOINING the Army voluntarily...asking to be placed in a rifle company and then refusing to do his duty...why go that far only to bring up your religious convictions when it comes time to fulfill ALL your duties? The job title of Pharmacist clearly states the code of ethics and professional behavior...if god is going to trouble you that much you should not enter such a professon...no one gives a license or hires a surgeon who won't or can't treat certain symptons because it goes against his teaching...but that's okay...the people who hire him have to understand in the future what kind o f pharmacist they're getting..if, as some stores who won't sell alcohol, their own morals tell them they will only hire pharmacists who will refuse to dispense such pills...in which case they wouldnn't stock them to begin with...is what they want...then let them say so on the front door...nothin wrong with that. I think her position is that she had a reasonable right to expect FULL service from a store that has no disclaimers posted...certainly people should not be forced into doing things that go against their religious ethics...like thinking, for instance. --------------------- |
