...anyone who starts out assuming that the United States had any good intentions about Iraq has missed the boat already. No one thinks Bill Gates is eager for competitors and neither has the United States EVER wanted peace and prosperity and free anything for Dark people who happen to own oil or forests and minerals. The very basis of this argument is false to begin with and requires way too much stuffing of inconvenient facts and past practices under the rug to maintain seriously. This fellow is still hooked on rhetoric, on what comes out of a politicians mouth. He might as well claim the United States had the best interests of the Native Americans in mind when it moved them out of harm's way and onto Reservations where they would be safe and cozy and less likely to get lost and fall down a cliff, hurting themselves...much to Uncle Sam's sorrow. We went to Iraq to kill children...we went to bomb their parents back into a Dark Age..we went to make it less likely the Iraqi people would grow and prosper albeit in ways we couldn't control. Anyone still thinking the United States was helping Koreans, Vietnamese and all the untold hundreds of thousands of Latin people we had our henchmen kill and bury is just plain nuts...or young and easily impressed by appearances and the noble sounding phrases always used to cover murder and deceit...ask the church. It's an unpleasant truth but the sooner realized the better chance for us all. --------------------- |
