Great song, great singer. Ashur's use of the Assyrian Language is so perfect. My fav. is "Rumta'd Khisha". The rough translation of that is "The Height of Sadness", but I found out that's not what he really means. With "Rumta'd Khisha" he is talking about a freshly covered grave and that hill of dirt it creates. In the song he loses his loved one and sings about her new home being that "Ramta'd Khisha", "Sokla'b Wardeh"(decorated with flowers). Just the fact that I think he is the only person to ever use the word "Tloola" which means Morning Dew, makes him kick ass.

I wonder if you guys have ever had the chance to here Zandar. One of the best ever. He's a true artist that plays a mean guitar. Asyat and Pesha B'Noshee are two of the greatest songs ever written.

If we ever meet I'll sing you folks my English version of this song called Sweet Pigeon.

Here's my little bit of help on DOLLale's translation:

Ah hay la yao-nee
This is my dove
yao-neeta khlee-ta
beautifull dove -------------sweet dove
Ah hay la yao-nee khay-yee
This is my dove, my life
qa-too min meeta
For which I will die (it should be qa-too WIN meeta)
x2

(I'm totally guessing on the spelling here... I've got my headphones on and I'm going to try and transcribe it phonetically!)

Khizya lichnee te-va
He saw....this part I don't know ------- I saw her standing
Alaynit meeya
On the top of the water? Eye of the Water?? -------- Horizon
Qorbinney Ana kisla
I tried to get closer to her
Raban maseyyah
Because I was thirsty??? ------- I was very thirsty

Mo-tee-lee oshimmakh
What is your name
Ya atoureyah
Assyrian lady? Oh assyrian? -------- you're right, Assyrian lady
Moot-chip-la reesho merra
She turned her head and said
Ah ninnyoneeyah
I am yoniya (name meaning dove)

Yao-nee atintaneelee
My dove tell me
Moodeewat atee
What are you?.
Makh shimsha bizrakeva
Like the sun you are shining ----------- like the sun you are rising
chod youm youl patee
Everyday on my face.

x2

Khagzeyto ga shepta ------- don't have the song but I think he says "goo shiqla"
How she looks at me??? ------- then it would translate to with one look at me
Goo den aynatee
With those eyes? ------------ in those eyes of mine
Moodelakh chim jeldoota
How fast you showed me???
o khobbakh khat-ee
Your love for me??
x2

Yao-nee atintaneelee
My dove tell me
Moodeewat atee
What are you?
Makh shimsha bizrakeva
Like the sun shining ---------- like the sun you are rising
chod youm youl patee
everyday on my face

x2

Khagzeyto ga shepta
How she looks and looks?
Goo den aynatee
With those eyes
Moodelakh chim jeldoota
How fast she showed me
o khobbakh khat-ee
Your love for me
