It is understadable, but not forgiveable, that young Assyrians, like these kids, are afraid of their own contradictions. That's why they would rather desecrate their own monuments, which once installed, create visible structures that force them to face themselves and the culture they have been falsely creating. They are afraid what these steps might lead to. They are worried that these images might stir new feelings in them and shake the very foundation they have been standing on, building upon, and hiding behind. They are afraid to take the first step into the unknown and do not realize that when they finally do take their one step, the whole world comes to them, rewards them, accepts them, and puts them into a new realm. --------------------- |
