It is unforgivable for an Assyrian intellecual who has earned a PHD to write such garbage and deny their nationality!!

...how about the non-existant Assyrian identity to begin with? These people are Christians playing round-robin ethnicity. If there can be Assyrians then there can be Chaldeans and if there are both, then there are Chaldo/Asshos and any other combination anyone cares to create. The only reality is that we are all of BetNahrain and NO religion is a litmus test...neither is a language, kebobs, headress or when your parents arrived. Iraq is going to join the modern era one of these days...after the United States no longer needs this murder-for-oil program...and it can only do so then when we drop these pettifogging and spurious ethnic "identities" that keep people in that region savage, barbaric and backwards...and no one more so than our own Christian "nationalists".
