Consider this point of view.

In the eyes of Islam, ancient Assyrian religion and god Ashur were pagan (please do not preach to me because I understand they were not in reality). If Assyrians were to remain on their original "pagan" religion, Islam was going to exterminate them completely with their occupation of Assyria (modern north of Iraq) or force them into Islam and hence become Arabized.

...not true in the first place because the Yezidis managed to survive. In the second place making a Muslim of an Assyrian does not change his ethnicity...only his religion...changing an Assyrian into a Christian doesn't change his or her ethnicity either...what this all hinges on is this business of being "Arabized"...but that's a nonsense term...Christians have been Arabized...Jews get Arabized...Christians get Americanized and want nothing to do with anything etnically Mid Eastern....so that isn't the point...in fact the boys LOVE to get Westernized..they can't WAIT to get Westernized...and that's again only because of the shared CHRISTIAN religion....and those Assyrians who became Muslim just as naturally couldn't WAIT to be Arabized..because of THEIR common religion.

This whole bullshit is based on religious hatred...more on the part of Christians than Muslims...Christians because they lost the MidEast...their Christ got marginalized and they hate Muslims for that...and all this political nonsense flows from that.

Assyrians who became Muslim were naturally influenced by Arab culture....big deal...they also went on to found a whole new and glorious empire..one that literally saved the world by saving classical learning and knowledge from the Pope's henchmen...till Europeans were able to pull the fangs of the church...therefore Muslim Assyrians have much more and much more recent things to take great pride in...whereas Christians have one drubbing after another till the West lured them into bed, fucked them and disrespected them every morning since then....

This is the fact because Islam did not tolerate paganism. What saved the Assyrians to certain degree in Assyrian heartland (modern northern Iraq) was the fact that they were Christians and Christians along side with the Jews were people of the book and protected in principle by the Koran (I understand that the realities were different however and this protection caused the Christians dearly in other ways).

...which side of your mouth are you going to talk from? It saved them AND they got killed for it? The truth is they sufferd very litle so long as they kept it to themselves..where you people always got into trouble was when you evangelized and made a nuisance of yourselves..and of course since the Crusades when Muslims had every reason to begin to doubt you...it wasn't entirely your fault but then neither did Islam do anything to deserve the Crusades in the first place. We can see today how a handful of jackasses can ruin it for everybody...we had the same jackassess during the Levies and we got Simele as a result and the Christians were crying back THEN about being betrayed and left to fend for themselves after allying themselves with the West..and guess what they went and just did AGAIN!

Therefore, this continuous suggestion that Christianity destroyed Assyrians is a myth to me because if we were not Christians, we were not to exist today as Syriac peaking people rather Arabic speaking Moslems.

...and what would be the loss? Many many languages have disappeared...you people want to keep your language then YOU teach it and YOU fund the schools in the West where they are SAFE...instead you go yelling at Saddam and Tunisia and tell them THEY must teach YOUR language...the language is a red herring...it's a scam and a front...in a few more generations in America no one will be speaking it and you'll all be yelping in English..big loss...at least the Iraqis were protecting BetNahrain from YOUR wars.

...if the language mattered there would be schools all over..and not just teaching religion and peculiar history but REAL subjects so it can be a viable language and not a relic for church or the kitchen...this is a nonsense argument...you are Christians who have seized on this language and Jesus nonsense as a way of getting a Christian enclave...Assyrians are PEOPLE first..before they are either Christian or Muslim...you could take ANY infant and raise it "Assyrian"...what counts is what people DO..and you boys don't.
