...U.S. OKs Expanded Oil Drilling in Alaska

WASHINGTON - Citing a need for domestic energy, the government plans to open for exploratory drilling thousands of acres on Alaska's North Slope that have been protected for decades because of migratory birds and caribou.

The Bureau of Land Management (news - web sites) has concluded that oil and gas exploration in the northeastern corner of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska can be conducted with "minimal impact" on the area's wildlife.

...WELL? You all WANTED to limit oil dependency...didn't you? Why should Iraq bear the brunt...wreck your own country for a change!!!

...this has nothing to do with anything more than profit some more Fear...had the government busted a gut to reduce emissions and demand greater gas mileage etc we might believe they're trying to help anyone...all they're doing is helping themselves to more of our money by trashing our environment...after trashing anyone else;s they felt like and getting innocent kids killed all around the world...MAN!!!...what a lot of karma is gonna come our way!!!
