Saddam was Sunni Muslim, the less fanatical branch. Sunnis were the minority...Shiites the majority. Shiites are the more fanatical ones. So when was Iraq better off? At least under minority Sunni rule the Sharia Law the Shiites love so much was kept out of government and women were free and culture was free and head scarves weren't mandatory and there were liquor stores for Christians to own...as well as peace between Christian and Muslim...among the non-fanatical ones that is. Now the Sunnis have been swept from power and "democracy" will rule. But what does that mean in actual terms? It means the more fanatical, less Westernized, head-scarf wearing Muslims will now dominate. Among other things it will be pay-back time. Not only will Muslim kill Muslim but Christians will get it worse than ever. You have to wonder what Peter Jassim and Aprim and Kanna and Jatou and the rest of them were REALLY wishing for when they begged for democracy? Who did they think would come out at the top? Chrisatians? Under ANY Muslim scenario the Christians would be in last place...so it's hardly the case that they wanted democracy in Iraq as a solution to their "problem". I think they were and are still lying to their "followers". I think the upper strata of Christian leadership, the higher apes...have their secret agenda you hear tell so much about...I think they want some sort of partition...they yearn for that Christian enclave cum triangle...and even then they haven't thought it out very well...thought about would happen if they did get such an enclave..surrounded by the same bloodthirsty Muslims they warn of now as the reason to GIVE them this enclave to begin with. And the crux of this whole "position" rests on their fomenting as much discord and violence among the Muslim majority directed AT their own people...to prove their point. The last thing these boys want is peace and prosperity in Iraq...not if it means they have to remain a minority in "their" country. And since they have no way of actively doing anything to get a Triangle...all that's left to them is to make sure Christians stay put...AND suffer a lot. Their job is to amplify that suffering...make the most of it...underscore it...shout about it and make sure no one forgets it...which also means that given the choice they would far rather see greater violence done to the Christians of Iraq than not...and of course that leads to them downplaying or totally ignoring the vast numbers of Christians who've been killed by Christians...American and Britiah Christians, as useless for their aims. It isn't Christians they care for or lament over..it's Christians killed by MUSLIMS they get hot over and the more the merrier for their triangles. The murder the Sanctions brought to Iraq were as indiscriminate as the tidal waves washing over Asia...there was no parting of the waters where Christians stood...protected by their god or their religious similarity to the attackers and despoilers of Iraq...every one of them got bowled over in equal democratic fashion...except not. The awful irony is that when once the indiscriminate violence that afflicted them all subsides, it will be the Christians who will be sought out to receive their extra portion of suffering...so in the end they will suffer the MOST. By then of course all "chance" for an enclave will be as gone as it ever was...because who will then want to start the thing all over again...when the foreigners will have got what they wanted and left? 56% of the American public says the war wasn't worth it to begin with...that means they want to get out...get away from it. They won't come out and say it right away, but the idea will grow rapidly that if it was a mistake to begin with it cannot end in any other than a BIG mistake and they had best get out well before then. The boys were pinning their hopes on the Americans staying to the bitter end..which is funny considering that they, with all the stake and "love" for Betnahrain, were more than glad to have gotten out...had no intention of going there to fight OR live and were additionally so damn glad to be American that to expect Americans who have NO bond to the region to stay and fight and get their children killed for a country Jassim and Jatou will do nothing for...is as silly as boys have ever been. The end will come soon...it is predictable..it was 14 years ago. It will end like the other incursions did, with the attackers getting most of what they wanted and the Christian minority left with less than nothing...and the boys will go crying down through history at their lost chance to steal the pride and honor they are so clearly unworthy of. A futile and doomed attempt only made "possible" over the dead bodies of their own people they thought to climb up over on their way to "Assyria". The ugly truth is that the more dead bodies of Christians they piled up...the "higher" they might hope to climb. The next time one of them shows you pictures of piled up Christian corpses...remember it's just the ladder he'd hoped to scale to Nineveh with. --------------------- |
