...so they have elections in Iraq...big deal. What's the benefit of democracy forced on people at the point of a foreign gun? The people who lose are hardly going to do a "Gore"...that is, shake hands and come out whimping. What difference does it make who wins...the opposition is going to lay down and roll over? Way before democracy can take hold there have to be all sorts of stages of preparation...habits have to be made...new ways of responding and reacting have to develop...several centuries of enlightened thinking are also usefull. What's the point of imposing demcoracy on people used to taking it to the streets anyway? Especially now, after the United States has demonstrated just what a sham this "respect for law" and democratic principles is...after illegally attacking and murdering children for over 13 years...especially now after all the horrific abuses the Americans have unleashed in Iraqi society, as they had every intention of doing, is this a poor time to expect people to abide by Law...what Law? It isn't even fair to call it the law of the jungle. Where in any jungle do any animals do this sort of thing? This is Human Law...this is Christian morality at its fullest and best. Like it or not, that's the simple truth of it. The Christians were a raging success at taking out the Jews, for which they apologized, sort of. Now they're at it against Muslims...the same lies, the same hate-mongering and demonizing...they'll even apologize for this one day. Bloodiest damn religion the world ever saw. --------------------- |
