...the notion that these attacks are intended to derail "democracy" and "free elections" in Iraq is absurd. They aren't free and what they envision is not a democracy...whatever it is it will need American military presence and backing...which is what Saddam had for all those years...all that's changed is that the new puppet will have American troops IN Iraq...instead of at some airbase far away.
