...okay. It's as impossible for an Assyrian to be Christian. Being Assyrian had a specific meaning at a time when religion counted for everything. If an Arab can't be Christian, even more then an Assyrian can't be Christian.

...can't get simpler than that.

..No one risks death by switching from Islam to Christianity. What no Muslim nation will allow is prosletyzing...and I thank them for it. No sooner do evangelists NOT find any converts than the United States Marines show up. I wish they outlawed it in all lands.

...but a Christian man or woman CAN be thrown out of their family if they dare marry a Muslim...never mind that they keep their own faith...and for any Christian "Assyrian" to convert is as close to being dead to your family as there is.

...the differences between Islam and Christianity in these regards can be put down to Time. For 1000 years Christianity ruled Europe and they KILLED any heretics from their own religion, as well as any converts from their own religion TO their own religion...you could be burned to death or imprisoned for Life just for questioning church doctrine...for believing you had a better way to be Christian, not to leave it altogether...and the Reformation and Restoration meant death to countless Christians for being CHRISTIAN...never mind converting to Islam...there WERE no Muslims around, they'd murdered them all.

...Islam is long overdue for a Refromation and Renaissance...as the Church was when it came to them. It isn't a matter of evil intent...just Time. No one was more barbaric and murderous than the devout Christians of Europe...no one..and no one has EVER killed or tortured or persecuted more Christians THAN Christians.
