..when you believe in one god, you believe in one way and have to exclude the many other ways there are to se things...because they are of another god...and you insist there can only be one, and he is your's. It is a limiting way to see the world and makes fanatics of enough of us...which simply means people who have blinders on.

The boys can only process what their priests told them and what they experienced themselves through believing as their priests told them to believe...going out into the world with one set and only one set of beliefs.

They can't come at the problems they face from any other angle...to do so, to open up the shutters and take a wider look around would be "treason" to the belief system drummed into them..or rammed. That's why they turn on each other long before any "enemy" appears at the gate...they ARE each other's enemies, as they have been for ages in BetNahrain, battling among "heresies" that used to get you killed, but now just make you despise your fellow Christians.

Thus they can't allow themselves to imagine anything, to get into someone else's skin and see what it felt like from their perspective. They only know THEIR rights, THEIR fears, THEIR betrayals...as they only give validity to THEIR views of god or a nation etc.

They fail to consider how Muslims in the MidEast felt when the Christian nations of Europe and then America too, ganged up the Ottoman Turks JUST because they were "weak and sick"...and took possession of their oil fields...they can't comprehend that Muslim parents lost their children..that Turks were terrified as well...all they know is THEIR loss and THEIR suffering.

They can't admit that after that latest Crusade the Christians of the Mideast were seen and with good reason, as traitors or potential allies of those who would attack Muslims again, whenever they felt like it or needed more oil...with no other reason necessary and with NO provocation on their part at all...because it wasn't what Muslims DID to the West that brought war and death and loss to them..it was what they HAD...the oil the West needed to run its machinery and make its profits from.

The restrictions placed on all Christians came only after 1918...even though Iraq took in the refugees from Iran...and in Feisal's welcoming speech to them you can see the magnanimity of this Muslim from Saudi. But the refugees had all been farmers in Iran...they had no skills and no land in Iraq...thus it was that the British saw their openning...they offered the refugees homes, jobs, schooling for their children in return for joining their occupation forces as Levies...and what choice did many of them have? As right now in Iraq scores of young men are forced to join another occupying force because they have no alternatives and must feed their families etc...and to show it had nothing to do with the Christian religion of the Levies or their "Assyrianism", give us a break...Muslims today are killing any MUSLIM who collaborates...just as they retaliated aginst the Christians for joining the Levies,....it had NOTHING to do with religion, as it doesn't now...but with the ACT of collaboration...but the boys can't admit that because their priests, of the ONE god, have told them ONE version..and that's it, as far as they're concerned...it HAS to be the truth, else priests lie and having one god might be bad for your mental health.

Muslims justifiably saw the Christians among them as containing an element within them that might listen again to ANY whisperings from the Brits or any other power seeking to gain some advantage from this Christian minority. And how could they be sure which group that might be? It's understandable...and yet when you make this case to the boys, even though it takes no great mind to comprehend it, they MUST reject that as well...because their priests say so. And their priests speak for that ONE god..that ONE way of perceiving the Infinite and therefore reality as well.

It took some time, some doing before Christians in Iran and Iraq could once again come out from hiding and away from the discrimination they suffered due to the justifiable suspicion all Christians were subject to for the recent events of the First World War...my mother tells me that my father was the first Christian to graduate Medical school in Iraq, that was in 1941....that until then no Christian was allowed to go onto higher education..but this happened elsewhere as well...the Israelis are carefull to make sure no Palestinian youths go on to university...they do not want an educated and disaffected class growing up among them. The last thing Muslims back then wanted was highly educated Christians who might be put to work to promote British designs...as Christian refugees had been. They felt they could not count on the loyalty of a religious minority that had shown itself willing and able to fight their hosts for foreign pay...and that's understandable.

At the end of the American Civil War, with the Union victorious there were demands that the South be punished...made to pay reparations and have sanctions imposed on it for all the bloodshed and waste of a war they'd initiated...but Lincoln refused...certainly they were justified in wanting to punish those responsible for the death of more Americans than have died in ALL our wars put together...and that was in a CIVIL war...a war fought between Americans with NO outside intervention. "With malice towards none"...Lincoln said...and the Union was protected from itself...from its narrow desire for revenge.

But what happens when it is an outside force that attacks and finds willing collaborators within a country? In all instances where that's happened, in ALL of them...those who turn against their own government for WHATEVER reason can only expect the harshest of measures...as we can see has been handed down to any Muslim American SUSPECTED of being "sympathetic"...just that...just sympathetic. Imagine what America would do to any Muslim who took up arms IN America to attack Christian Americans...and you have your answer why, after the First World War, the screws were tightened on all Christians.

As time passed however they were restricted less and less until they were allowed anywhere and able to succeed and begin to amass wealth and prosperity and education and advancement again...and then it came again...for the same reasons, OIL. And once again the old horrors are playing out...but who started it? Who started the last war...who started this one? certainly not the Iraqis.

But boys raised by priests who represent ONE god and so ONE truth can see nothing but what the field reps for their ONE god tell them...they can't see this earth from the eyes of a Muslim, or the followers of any other god...just as they can't see "reality" from the eyes of those of the opposing side...that's why they made the same mistake all over agin...trusting to the same Brits and now Americans too...clinging to the worlds of the British Parliament, the same place they were shafted before...or to American politicians who sell their words for money to anyone who comes along...there is nothing easier than getting something read in to the Congressional record..all it takes is $1.99.

The Christians of Iraq are once again paying the price...a price exacted not by the Muslims of Iraq (who are paying by far the greater price), but imposed on them by the Christians of the West...and, just to ensure their suffering, seconded and applauded by their OWN Christians, safely out of it. This is an immense Jizya levied against them by their OWN people. Nothing..nothing typifies these "Assyrians" more than self-hatred....truly they hate their Assyrian ancestors and everything they stood for...giving their loyalty to a Jew religion instead...one that convinced them the best thing they EVER did was STOP being Assyrian. people that fucked up will get fucked...over and over and never have an orgasm...look at Peter and the other Rabbits.
