...as the boys of Enron conspired to rip their own people off over an energy crisis that wasn`t..so too Bush and Cheney and the rest conspired to create a war that would create an oil shortage...we were buying oil just fine from Saddam and it cost a lot less than it does now...so who gained? The Oil companies like all the other international conglomerates don`t pass any "savings" on to us..whether it`s oil or that shirt made now in a sweatshop in Asia instead of a union shop in America..the savings in labor goes right into the pocket of the owners. They created a bogus reason for this war..they made a fortune the day war was declared..they cleaned out our Treasury and are now loaning us back our money to make up the deficit..and we`ll pay them interest on top of that...and, they`ve created enough of a climate of fear that soon various politicians will start intoning dire warnings about our "dependence on foreign" oil,,,as the beginning of drilling in our last few pristine wilderness areas. They know damn well global warming is a serious issue...yet have no trouble finding scientists more than happy to be funded to find out that, "we don`t know enough yet", so keep it going. They hurriedly lowered EPA standards and raised the monstrosity level of the SUVs and cars they rush to put out. This is all calculated to increase out consumption level..while increasing the price at the pump due to "those greedy foreigners who have us hostage"...and finally..clear a path to drill Alaska and offshore and anywhere else they may be "of service" to you..their dear client and best friend whose welfare is their sole concern in the world. And to do all of this they have murdered hundreds of thousands of innocent children and their parents. Met a man here in Mexico whose seven year-old son was kidnapped over a year ago and held for ransom...plus a little vendetta I think. Rather than cooperate fully and pay the money..the guy turned to powerful friends in the government and police...the child was tortured to speed things up but the father dawdled so long all communictions were cut off. Three months ago they found the boy`s backpack in Chicago...but the boy has more than likely been killed by now and his body dumped anywhere. No one can afford to keep a kidnap victim hidden away that long..if the thing looks like it won`t work, you cut your losses and dispose of the evidence...that simple. Horrible, isn`t it? But what do you say to the United States of America that pats itself on the back when it allows these thugs who run our government to kill thousands of innocent children...and send out own young people in harms way. For what? Any of you still believe this was all done with the welfare of Iraq in mind..or to increase Freedom in the world? Who is more lacking in humanity or decency...dirt poor Mexicans who see wealth displayed before them constantly and can`t get at it without committing heinous crimes..who KNOW they are crimminals and act the part and are seen as such by all normal people...Or Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld and the rest...people who are stinking rich already but want more..who already can buy anything they want ten times over..but who want to buy it all over again one more time. people who pass themselves off and are accepted as moral...freedom-loving..heroic...statesmenlike. THESE are the crooks who count..not a Mexican gang. And we made them our government and put our young people`s lives, our treasure and our guns in their hands..and you think they won`t hesitate to turn those guns on us or attack our unique form of government...? --------------------- |
