...the idea that there are surviving Assyrians in this day is preposterous. There are Israelis because that name and those people are of the SAME religion they were 2000 years ago and more. People in the modern era who live in nations are of all sorts of religions...new religions which came into being SINCE the time of the ancient Jews and Hebrews...back in the same time when there WERE Assyrians...and in those days it was indeed true that there were Assyrians...because the RELIGION made them so, was central to and the entire core of their being...as it STILL is to Israelis...rather, to Jews, for there are Muslims and Christians today who have Israeli citizenship as well...who belong to the NATION of Israel. At the same time Aprim says that Christianity, definitely NOT an Assyrian religion...(which, even though it DERIVES from Judaism, is NOT accepted as "almost the same" as Judaism by Christians OR Jews, thereby supposedly making Jews and Christians, "almost the same thing"...)he asserts that it means nothing that Assyrians abandoned Ashur...that without the ancient core of their identity they remained "Assyrians" nonetheless and indeed became even MORE Assyrian and "purely" Assyrian...in other words that the religion of Ashur...of ASHUR mind you, was NOT central to the Assyrian identity...he insists that Christianity, a Jewish knock-off, is THE indicator of an "Assyrian" today...and that to lose Ashur means nothing but that to lose Jesus means EVERYTHING! How can anyone pose such an absurd proooooove? Clearly he is talking about CHRISTIANS of various sects, who must keep their CHRISTIANITY or else they will lose their identity as CHRISTIANS...which is, of course, true. Instead and with very shabby sleight-of-hand and mind too, he insists that Christians of various sects must keep their CHRISTIANITY or else they will lose their identity as ASSYRIANS...merely sticking "Assyrian" in there to make a "nation" of CHRISTIAN sects! There is no need to blow holes through them...they do it themselves every day...and that's why you will NEVER see any of them out in the open...why you will NEVER see Aprim hand his "book" over to be reviewed... --------------------- |
