Well, there is a type of Christianity that focuses on the "meek" and the poor: it's called "Liberation Theology", and the Reagan gang couldn't stand to have an alternative that works as near as Nicaragua, so they labeled it "communist" and "Soviet-backed" (when, in fact, the Sandinistas only opted to have the Cubans and Russians help them when it was clear that the Yankees were funding an illegal, invading force: the Contras) - who were mainly paid for with drug money, being made in the inner-city and destroying those communities, from L.A. to Atlanta. These days you still hear these assholes advocate against social justice movements and Liberation Theology on Fox.
