Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called yesterday on the international community to establish a new global financial order in the context of his attack on the United States and Israel for their hegemony of the financial and oil markets and capital flows. During a speech delivered on the occasion of installing a new oil minister Ahmadinejad declared, "As long as we do not make suitable arrangements in this regard (establishing a new global financial order) oil money will find itself in an orderly fashion to the pockets of the Americans as it is happening now with the hegemony of the American dollar on the global markets." He added, "We have to create a competing bourse for oil to break the dollar hegemony." Source: Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, London, August 10, 2011 --------------------- |
