...take away Islam and the Arab Conquest and there would be no Church of the East, Nestorians or Jacobites today. Had the Byzantines or the Romans conquered Mesopotamia all of these sects, already deemed heretical by Rome and Byzantium, would not have survived...their members would either have been burned at the stake, buried alive, had their children taken from them by force and imprisoned for life or forcibly converted to the dominant Christian party.

That's history speaking, not me.
