American Suicide Bombers vs. Palestinian Suicide Bombers

...we are to condemn a Palestinian who straps five sticks of dynamite to his body and sets himself off in a crowded bus....but make a hero out of Col. Doolittle who strapped himself into a B25 Liberator, with considerable more explosives, to set off on sleeping women and children in Tokyo.

Palestinians are no more capable of fielding a regular army than were the Jews of the Warsaw ghetto....in each case people, terribly outnumbered and outgunned, had to improvise a defense as best they could.

If one is admirable, so is the other.

And if OUR suicide bomber can be a hero to us it shouldn't startle Hitchens so that the Palestinian is also a hero to his or her side....and religion has nothing to do with either case.

It doesn't help us resolve these conflicts, if that's really what we want, for us all to go stupid.
