So, I was wondering what everyone's feedback was, regarding their relentless, voracious desire to compare themselves to Europeans? This is what I've observed, they incessantly dramatize their similarities to Europeans, especially Greeks and Italians to such a degree. That some of them even beguile themselves into believing they're one of them. They often explicitly state their religious status as a whole, as if it was the sole determining factor in characterizing the essence of European culture. Then proceed to liken their appearances to them, especially in reference to Italians. While simultaneously ignoring the fact that most Northern and even Central Italians, are several shades lighter than them. As a matter of fact, Northern Italians in particular are quite similar phenotypically to Central Europeans. So unless most Assyrians can pass for French, Swiss or Slovenian. There's no way in hell most of them look Italian. Not only that, but Assyrians are even phenotypically distinct from Southern Italians. In terms of their morphological qualities, Assyrians and Italians can be easily delineated. Why can't we just be intellectually honest with ourselves, and tell everyone that we resemble our neighboring populations. That way, maybe then, and only then, can we reclaim some semblance of our dignity. --------------------- |
