Assyrians Working Against Assyrians

That’s what one inflammatory post was headlined. How about, “Assyrians Tired Of Being Embarrassed By Assyrians”….or “Assyrians Refuse To Be Cheated By Assyrians”…or “Assyrians Will Not Be Stifled By Other Assyrians Crying ‘Nationalism’ Every Time They Fart”.

Why is it we can never question a fellow Assyrian without becoming, “traitors to Assyria”? And if I think Rosie Malek’s book is an atrocity about atrocities, why can’t I hold that opinion, and say it out loud as a free and thinking human bean responsible to my conscience first, without being called names and reviled? Why do I have to accept everything every lame Assyrian wants to do, in the name of all of us, no less?

When a man of German descent, whose family came to America in 1778, runs a traffic light and is pulled over…do headlines scream “German Stopped by Police”? Yet that’s what we heard every time an Assyrian, whose family has been in Iraq for 3000 years, was tossed into jail for breaking the law in Iraq…”Assyrian Jailed by Government”…without explaining that the Assyrian was jailed for preaching sedition, though he called it his “national rights”. If you think your national rights allow you to break your nation’s laws, then you go to jail and would in any country…and everyone knows this is prosecution and not persecution, everyone except us. How would it read if a report on the rapidly growing prison population in the United States was titled…”More Christians Than Ever Turning To Crime”?

Can no one honestly denounce these silly tactics of the Boys, all learned during their brief fling with Eastern Bloc Communism, which they believed would bring them utopia, where now they clamor for an Assyria that, from the looks of things, will be more repressive than East Germany ever was? Why can’t you ask questions in Assyria? Why can’t you laugh at humbug in Assyria? Why can’t you speak your mind freely in Assyria? Why can’t anyone see that the attempt to stifle debate and controversy by claiming “national interests” is the hollow ploy that it’s always been…used to squelch honest dissent and provide a smoke screen for scoundrels?

Fred Aprim isn’t an “honest patriot who speaks the truth”…he’s a hired hand who’s afraid of the truth and seeks to subvert it, who works for one Assyrian AGAINST the interests of other, equally petty, Assyrians as well as against the larger interests of us all because between the lot of them we are being force-marched backwards or, if you prefer, into a future Kurdistan. If he voiced his disapproval of them ALL…because there isn’t one of them, “elected” or not who isn’t in this for the financial gain, then I’d be inclined to trust him…but when Kenna, using this spurious “mandate” of ten votes more than the next guy, acts as if we all want him to represent us…then he’s elected himself Tyrant…not representative.

And I’m going to speak it and say it and write and shout it all I want to…because I’m not JUST Assyrian, I’m a human bean who values the freedom of the human mind, with all its limitations and imperfections, far more than I value a man in an ill-fitting suit saying, “trust me…again”.

I reject the notion that we all have to be led into Assyria as if we were a herd of cattle at round-up…as much I resent being thought of as one sheep in a flock led by a Shephard who got himself crucified. No Shephard ever kept his sheep out of love…not unless he was really screwy…sheep are kept and cared for and fed for the slaughter…nothing more.
