Bear with me while I try to work this out…it just came to me. You say I don’t care that Assyrians die in Iraq…and one of you even said I want Assyrians to be killed in Iraq…presumably because I don’t share your Christian faith which, I assume, you say wants Assyrians in Iraq to remain alive, right? Does that sound about right so far? Then you say I want Assyrians to become Muslim. For the sake of argument let’s say you’re correct…that this is exactly what I want to happen. Well then, wouldn’t that save their lives? You believe that converting to Islam would have saved Christian lives…Assyrian lives. Then I ask you…which is most important to you…saving an Assyrian life, or saving a Christian faith? I want that Assyrian child to live…no matter in what faith for, as far as I’m concerned, whether the child turned away from Ashur for Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, Buddha or Snow White makes little difference to me. But does being a Muslim guarantee your life? Apparently not…for Shi’aa and Sunni are madly killing each other…and for every one Christian collaborator, fifty Muslim ones are killed. So that I hardly think converting to Islam is going to save anyone’s life automatically…and since I admit that saving an Assyrian’s life is my primary goal, my so-called attempt to convert Assyrians to Islam would be a pretty silly way to save them. How does that strike you? By all means don’t convert to any other religion, or follow any teacher or leader…just think about things for yourself. At first it will seem scary but only because you haven’t done it for most of your life…like legs whose muscles have gone flaccid through lack of use…but stick with it and little by little the world will open up before you…and then you can go back to your faith, if you still want to. Who would dare stop you? The above paragraphs weren’t sent to me in a sealed envelope, dropped off at midnight by secret agents sent by my bosses and masters to give me my marching orders…you’ll find, if ever you open your mind, that all sorts of interesting things are lying in wait…they’ve been there since before you were born…god put them there. --------------------- |
