....at last...a sane and rational and kind and decent man speaks....

I can't remember where it came from but someone once posted here several quotes on Christian beliefs made by people like Jefferson and Franklin..all the big names among the Founders...Monroe too...the only one I recall is Monroe who said the gospel of Mark is the raving of a lunatic...the rest of them said similar things...they were mostly Deists, if they weren't atheists...meaning they believed in one god..and that was it. They had use or respect for Christian dogma at all...they remembered too well the bloody result of years of battles over this religion and how many countless men, women and children were slaughtered...they made a point of NOT including Christian ethics and dogma in our glorious Constituion.
