Form another lop-ided bit of pop-history and village reasoning comes this;

“The survival of these names indicates they continued to be inhabited by the same people as before the fall of Nineveh. If the original inhabitants no longer existed the new settlers of foreign origin would have called them by names more compatible with their own culture and language.”

…first of all, no one ever said the original inhabitants of the Assyrian cities didn’t exist. In fact no one says this except people like Warda; so they can then turn around and show “how stupid experts are”. But why should the names of the cities change?

Originally there were no Anglo-Saxons in California. San Francisco and Los Angeles were inhabited by Spaniards and Mexicans. Later, when the English, French, Dutch, Russian, Italian, German, Norwegian, et al people settled the region, took it over from Mexico and made it part of an entirely new country, they kept the old names. Mexicans and Spaniards still lived there, but they were soon outnumbered and not by any peoples who spoke Spanish or particularly liked them or the Mexicans.

So why didn’t they change the name of Los Angeles to Amsterdam…or Warsaw …why didn’t the “new settlers of foreign origin”, call “them by names more compatible with their own culture and language.”?

Like Warda “reasons”. Because Warda DOESN’T “reason”…he thinks with his cross and holy water. He’s too busy trying to invent “logic” which he can use to “prove” his silly points to think about what he writes.

The names of the Assyrian cities stayed the same…remaining Assyrians remained in them…but many new settlers came with the fall of empire and in time the native Assyrians were outnumbered and intermarried and mixed and no one was going to change to the identity of the defeated. Plus which they forgot their own Assyrian/Aramaic language, like our mothers always warn us NOT to because, like the ancient Assyrians…”if you do, you’ll FORGET your identity”!

Anyone remember hearing that growing up? Anyone grow up?
