There are key differences between these two religions and it's worth pointing out some of these differences. First, Christianity is a missionary religion and condemns all others to hell. Everyone is destined for hell from the start but it is only through the blood of christ that one can change this and make it into heaven instead. There is no choice given here when it comes to being born a "sinner" but one has the choice to even accept the crucifixion of jesus or go to hell as destined. Christians don't respect other religions as they see them from the devil and anti-jesus. Christians have to be indoctrinated from childhood or else it is likely the average person would not accept this. The foundation of Christianity is the supposed execution of jesus which is the only way one can redeem him/herself from that "original sin". There is also the trinity, eucharist and other doctrines but they are all connected to this doctrine of original sin and the crucifixion.

When it comes to Islam, there are no missionaries, no schools that teach how to convert people, there is no insulting of others faiths and previous prophets. Islam does not wipe out people's cultures, heritage, etc. An easy example of this is the people of Senegal and how they have their nice culture, language, history but are proud Muslims. Islam gained many of its converts in lands that were never under any Islamic conquest. We have even seen examples where conquerors and persecutors of Muslims embraced Islam and went on to achieve amazing things. The Seljuks, Tatars, Mongols, etc were invaders and killed many Muslims but ended up embracing Islam.

Islam never condemns anyone to hell as there is no such thing as "saved" nor "original sin". Everyone is responsible and we all have a conscience which tells us killing, stealing, rape, etc is wrong. Islam is also a continuation of previous faiths and never attacks other religions but only calls on certain people to follow their religions correctly. For example, Quran never says Christianity is from the devil, wrong, etc. All it does is point out where some of the Christians went wrong and asks them to return to the principals and fundamentals of the religion. It calls on Christians to stop going into extremes with their religion and tell the truth about Jesus(pbuh). That he was a prophet, the messiaha, a human and servant of God. This is how his earliest followers viewed him and that is all the Quran says but it never attacks other religions.

A person has the right to choose whatever and there is no need to indoctrinate, manipulate, etc. In the case of Islam, it is so simple and easy to understand that there is nothing to brainwash anyone with. The very foundation is "there is only one God" and nothing more. It is based on five simple pillars and nothing more. Anyone that tells us otherwise or tries to make Islam seem more than it is, is either ignorant and following his/her own culture and mixing it with Islam or they have an agenda. Islam does not allow murder, rape, robbery, etc. There is no religion that allows such things and Islam is no difference. However, Islam does allow self defence and demands justice. There is an entire legal system in Islam and it is such a beautiful and helpful thing that it would make lives easier for Muslims if they were to actually apply it. I don't like extremists nor do they have a place in Islam. The prophet never beat people for not having beards nor was this ever a requirement in Islam. There were still women in Madina that walked around without a headscarf and there was no police to to spy on them.

A person should know his/her religion and do it without compulsion and only do the best one can. Women even fought in wars in the time of the prophet. They were not locked in their homes nor stopped from getting educated, owning a business, etc. What we see today in some countries or hear on the news is simply ignorance and cultural practices and the xtian media likes to believe this is Islam. I could go on and on but I think it's enough for now. Christians that have lived in Muslim lands have had no trouble but the problems come from western Christians who have interests in an area, set up churches which are really there to steal people and cause trouble.
