Yesterday or the night before the Israeli Knesset passed a law in which anyone who is caught committing an alleged act of terror will have their citizenship revoked. From Israel's Civil Rights point of view a state calling itself a "Democracy" should by no means revoke somweone's citizenship - they should try them in a court of law, and if guilty, they should be convicted and sentenced to jail time or a fine. This is just another racist law against the Arabs living in Israel... just another legal word for "expulsion". From the same source (MondoWeiss) there was another post about an adult settler who had kidnapped, bound and abused (terrorised) a 15 year old Palestinian boy in a field somewhere in the occupied territories, and viciously killed the boy's goat by kicking it to death. He got just a few months in jail (I forget how many, maybe 3 to 6 months) and had to pay a small fine. No wonder Finkelstein has no love for or feels "no passion for Israel". --------------------- |
