Deepa Kumar - Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire -- This is something we should all see... I did. Dr. Deepa Kumar breaks down how the "Clash of Civilizations" is nothing but merely a social/politic construct based on imperialism. An excellent talk paying homage to Edward Said's "Orientalism", and with bits of pieces resembling one of Dr. Justin McCarthy's talks in which he spent one/third of his lecture elucidating how prior to WW1, Turks, like their "evil" partner, Germany, were targeted by the newly Public Relations chief, Edward Bernays (Dr. Freud's nephew), who began a propaganda program (PR) to manipulate the masses to blindly send their young to fight for the empires of Europe against one another.
