..it's certainly valid to criticize Dr Joseph's assertions that all evidence points to our being fooled and allowing ourselves to be dazzled by the notion that we're the actual descendants of the people whose graves the Euros dug up.

...But it matters greatly how one does this and who does it. The usual way is to call the man names...to say he is paid by the Jews or the CIA...that he wants to "deny" our heritage etc. Then we have people who present themselves as experts in the field who, on close examination, turn out to be quoting each other and the "books" they dream up and print on their desktops to "wild acclaim" from each other.

...A slightly different criticism, one that has the semblance of scholarship, comes from some who have degrees, all right, but in very different fields. Hence we have a tree doctor, an anthroplogist, a public school teacher or two, one garrulous certified accountant and secretary, a linguist, a sociology professor recently killed by a Christian and, just recently, our own actual and certified Assyriologist, Zack Cherry.

...Needles to say none of their professions have anything formal to do with the time-period, history and documents Dr Joseph references...and, just as needles to report; these other professionals are completely ignorant of the relevant material Dr Joseph relies upon...which, after all, deals with the history of the Middle East in the modern era.

...Dr Joseph has a doctorate in the HISTORY...the actual history, of the time-period our Christians inhabited during the time when the Assyrian identity was revealed through archaeology and applied to those Christians living above the ruins. Our modern history is not to be found in Assyriology, which is the study of the ancients of over 2500 years ago...neither are we to be explained, as far as our ethnic claim goes, by linguistics, anthropoligy, sociology, psychology, mathematics, engineering or any other field of legitimate study except for modern Middle Eastern history. And that much-anticipated genetic study from Stanford will only underline how damned gullible and desperate we are...maybe that's genetic after all.

...Until any of us can refute Dr Joseph's claims based on the actual subject matter and relevant material...and hopefully by having actually STUDIED the subject matter and not lifting and twisting out of context what might prove of service for national goals...then no one is really in a position to dispute him on the MERITS of the case.

...we just go all blooey and piss all over ourselves, imagine that we've been insulted...that we're accused of being bastards and not knowing who our fathers are etc. That works on forums and in bingo halls but nowhere else.

...I'm sure Dr Joseph eagerly awaits any such legitimate challenges...he is, after all, a true scholar and historian...not a party hack. I'd love to see it too.
