Another Presidential Hopeful supports the Assyrian Christians in Iraq.

Presidential Hopeful, Hillary Clinton expresses strong support for the Assyrian
Christians in Iraq!

`It is an awful situation`she said `We will do all we can to help`

As part of `Operation Assyrian Province` volunteers have been mobilized in Washington
to present a copy of the Congressional Resolution for an Assyrian Province to every
memer of Congress and to each of the Presidential hopefuls.

The goal of `Operation Assyrian Province` is three fold. First, to have the Congressional
Resolution passed to support the Assyrian Province, second to have members of Congress
and the Administration contact the Iraqi Government directly
to demand the approval of the Formal Request for an Assyrian Province and third
to prepare The Proposal To Administer The Assyrian Province.

The Proposal is a comprehensive plan to manage The Assyrian Province including security,
management, health services, education, initially subcontracted to private contractors
who will train Assyrians to take over all administration within a one to three year
time frame.

`Operation Assyrian Province` is calling on all members of the Assyrian Community
and their friends to contact specific representatives who have expressed a desire
to consider sponsoring the Congressional Resolution.

Callers are asked to call and say `Thank you for your support for the Assyrian Christians
in Iraq. I am an Assyrian and we are asking for Congressman x to be a sponsor of
the Congressional Resolution to Support the Assyrian Province.

This Province will help protect our community as well as allow the nearly 500,000
who have left the country as refugees to return.`

of the person you speak to and leave your name and a number and email to respond
to you with.

the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the third part with Egypt and Assyria,
a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts has lessed saying,
Blessed is Egypt My people and Assyria the work of my hands and Israel my inheritance.`

A joint resolution to urge the government of Iraq to uarantee a　Province for the
Assyrian Christians of Iraq.

In the Senate of the United States,[Month day], 2007

Whereas the Republic of Iraq is moving towards a stable, democratic government;

Whereas thousands of Americans and Iraqis have made the ultimate sacrifice for a
democratic, free and tolerant Iraq;

Whereas many Assyrian Christians from throughout the world including Assyrian-American
and those of Assyrian-Iraqi descent, have assisted in the efforts in Iraq as part
of multi-national coalition forces, to bring democracy in the region as Iraqi forces,
and as translators;

Whereas the Assyrian Christians are the original, indigenous people of Iraq, and
represent the first Christian Nation.

Whereas the Prime Minister on December 6, 2005 and the Foreign Minister on November
15 publicly said “The Assyrians are the original people of Iraq. Iraq is their
country. Whatever they need to remain in the country we will do. According to the
Iraqi Constitution they are entitled to at least one Province in their homeland.”

Whereas the Assyrian Province will be for the Assyrian Christians and other minorities,
on the same legal basis as the Kurdistan Regional Government will greatly help the
economy of Iraq as a whole.

Whereas on September 19, 2006 ‘The Formal Request For An Assyrian Province` was
officially presented to the Iraqi Government to the Foreign Minister and President
at their request, signed for and currently being processed in the
Iraqi Government.

Whereas, article 121 of the Iraqi Constitution of 2005 promises an Assyrian Region
as the "political" and "administrative" right of the Assyrian
Nation;

Whereas nearly 500,00 Assyrian Christians have left their homes Iraq due to the
instability and discrimination that faces them as a result of their political and
administrative rights having still to be established in the Assyrian Province.;

Whereas the nearly 500,000 Assyrian Christians who have left their homes and many
of the nearly 3.5 million Assyrian Christians living outside Iraq will return to
invest, live and support the Assyrian Province;

Whereas the Yazidis, Shabaks, Turkomen other Minorities the educated class have
expressed a strongly and positive interest in living in an Assyrian Region;

Whereas since 1992, the Kurds have enjoyed substantial autonomy within the Kurdistan
Regional Government, and article 113 of the Iraqi Constitution of 2005 provides
a mechanism for recognition of Regions other than Kurdistan;

Whereas the Assyrian Christians as a religious and ethnic minority, and the original
and indigenous people of Iraq, should be provided with a Region recognized to the
same extent as the Kurdistan Regional Government under article
113 of the Iraqi Constitution of 2005;

Now, therefore, be it:

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled - (1) urge the government of the Republic of Iraq guarantee
an Assyrian Province for the Assyrian Christians and others in their
original homeland pursuant to article 121 of the Constitution of the Republic of
Iraq and at the earliest practicable date, and (2) commits to support this autonomous
Region with increased resources and necessary resources
