...Hitchens' one mistake was debating Galloway...and I think he would have done as poorly against Juan Cole and any number of his former fellow-travelel the woers.

This implies that all of his former skills went missing after 9/11, at least in political debate.....

I remember being suspicious about Hitchens and Harris and Dawkins..as to what their real motive was..it seemed to me that they included Christianity and Judaism in their critiques as a way to disguise their attack on Islam..it looked less like bigotry and more like "comparative religion" that way....it would have been too obvious had they taken off to travel the world condemning only Islam...but clearly they were most afraid of Islam....fear made them silly.
