I don't know which was more shocking....hearing Hitchens defend neo-cons or Galloway asserting his Christian beliefs. Being in agreement with Hitchens' views on Christianity one is shocked to see him falling for “faith” in neo-cons and their wars....how can a man so insightful, so sharp and precise and loquacious when it comes to unmasking religion be so blind and sheep-like when it comes to assessing neo-con garbage? Something is wrong, how can the same mind hold those two positions and not get fried? And when you actually watch Hitchens defending the Iraq war and the war on Muslims you can see that he isn't firing on all cylinders, that he's impaired by something.

Likewise with Galloway and Christianity though I've never seen him actually explain or defend Christian beliefs.....but I did hear him say, after Hitchens died, that now Hitchens would see that there was a god and that he was merciful. I have a feeling though that in religious debate with Hitchens or Dawkins or even Harris, Galloway would come off as lame as Hitch did arguing for the Iraq war...Galloway would appear as dimwitted and lose all his force and sublime argument defending religion. How can HIS mind hold these two ideas?

How can you demand evidence and seek it on the one hand where, for Hitchens, religion is concerned and for Galloway neo-con wars, and yet, where neo-cons are concerned (for Hitchens), and religion (for Galloway), demand no evidence at all or accept very poor evidence, making up the lack, for both men in both cases, with FAITH...for one, faith in Bush, for the other, faith in god?

It's as if you knew enough to know that in order to bring air inside you must open a window, but when you wanted to go outside and feel the air, you tried to walk though the wall. On balance you're not only a fool but damaged goods as well.
