..it's an affront to him that it was even conferred, as well as to all those who've actually earned one. By their own admission the Nobel committee made its determination only a few weeks into Obama's presidency...what in god's name had he done for peace...or for anything besides getting elected? Did they think this award would encourage him to make peace? Is any other Noble Prize awarded on the basis that the prize will ENCOURAGE someone to do something worthy of it at some future date?

...it's bad from every angle and could well backfire.

It seems the Noble Committe trashed itself and called into question the integrity and value of their prize.
