....the long trail of political government arrived finally at the end point...the US Constitution...for all its flaws it represents the best that we humans can come up with...and no matter how we change it, even improve it, it has already attained its finest moment...and that is, giving people the power to fundamentally alter and control their lives without violence...we have it, but we don't use it.

The whole point was to do away with the kinds of governments, mostly forms of dictatorships which periodically led to bloody and costly rebellions and revolutions...finally there was a peaceful ,legal, manner through which the populace could design their way of life...and they did, a few times....but not nearly enough...and the rich found ways to easily bypass or undo it...and we let them, to our ruin and misery.

Take as an example the minimum wage....people have been suffering the effects of the greed and heartlessness as well as the plain foolishness of the wealthy who've chopped and reduced and marginalized the wages they pay out, for an increasing workload....we took it and took till it went way beyond even funny...and then, in a desperation we didn't have to wait for, we placed the issue on the ballot and guess what...people voted for it and it became law...it's still a long way from any real "benefit" to the people, but it helps and more than that, it should be a lesson in how democracy and freedom are REALLY supposed to work, especially Democracy...because if your form of "democracy" only and increasingly benefits only the wealthy, you DON'T have a Democracy....you have Fascism, which is the evil twin to Democracy....and only appears when and where there is Democracy, because it isn't required under any other form of government.

Fascism has to get the masses to "democratically" vote for the narrow agenda of the wealthy few...that's all it is. It tries to distract with "morals" and a return to "purer times" and to Jesus and Patriotism and of course creates, fabricates, huge dollops of fear and insecurity...these are methods by which it gets us to vote for THEIR benefit and against ours and our childrens'...all the while crying out that they are SAVING us and will "job-create"...someday.

Our Democracy gave us the tools to really benefit ourselves, without violence and destruction....it is for us to use those tools the right way...so far no one teaches us about those tools...they just lie there, unused for the most part...till we become desperate enough. And all the while, as their wealth increases, it is the wealthy few who ACT as if they are the ones under the gun, who are suffering, who have not enough to be happy with. That too is a fascist's trick.

Our Constitution gives us the tools, that's the most any form of government can do and the BEST it can do and ALL it should do...it can't do the rest...it can't MAKE us use what it provides...that has to come from us. There is no better way. This is the best there can be, the best tools.
