...an avid nationalist these days feels pressure to do SOMETHING...to be SOMEBODY...after all, nothing is more embarrassing to a nationalist than the silent reproach he must know is on everyone's mind when he tells them what great people he comes from..."Well, then...what happened to you"?

...These days especially, after Assyrians bent over for Bush and told themselves they'd stil be respected in the morning, only to find they got Kurdistan up the arse for all their accomodation, their sly smiles and oily seduction....especially when they gather in conventions and drink a little too much and their famous dim-ma gets too sha-kheena...it becomes just too humiliating to think they can't even conduct a discussion late into the night, or early morning hours, without having police show up and order them to their rooms...as if they were misbehaving children which, let's face it, these nationalists are.

...Jeez!....Assyrians were SENT TO THEIR ROOMS!!! How humiliating for us all.

...it must have just been too much, the straw that broke Ashurbanipal's back to think that after paying airfare and taxi rides and the room and food they couldn't even talkalot about being proud Assyrians!!!...going over, in mind-numbing detail all the fine points of east Jacobite vs north Mandean and the distinction of either or both with west Jumblat...."Jesus Christ and Ashurbanipal too", they must have felt, "can't we even TALK"??!! After all, that's all "being proud Assyrians" means these days...just talk. And if, after dropping a thousand bucks or two, they can't even do that...well, it was more than Dr Ron could take...so he talked himself into jail...I wonder if they cuffed him? Probably...it's standard procedure these days. I'm sure he had no trouble making bail...and will have a good lawyer at his hearing...

...now, if he just managed to drop dead in custody he would become a MARTYR!!!

As if Christianity wasn't enough to make a total jerk out of these people they decided to add "Assyrian" to the list of their disabilities.
