...like Maher, Hitchens and even Stewart, people we are used tobeing razor sharp where other issues are concerned, all of them, without exception or fail, roll over and playu dumb where theories about 9/11 are concerned.

In the first place, the governments own theory is a CONSPIRACY theory...whenever two or more people get together to engage in something, it is a conspiracy...the governemnt syas 19 people etc., that makes their theory also a conspiracy theory...so letīs stop calling only those who donīt buy the government explanation conspiracy nuts! The government has its own nutty conspiracy theory.

Itīs more accurate to say that many people do not believe the government was blindsided by 9/11....but hardly anyone says Bush DID IT!.

Chomsky says that for the Republicans to have been in on it would have left them vulnerable to leaks and eventual firing squads....really? As I recall an FBI field agent finally came in out of the cold and testified to Congress that she and other agents had sent numerous reports to headquarters that weird A-rabs were taking weird flying lessons...yet they were rebuffed and told to ignore....how come no oen was shot? This FBI agent DID come forward and raise a serious question...and nothing happened....we learned about the Gulf of Tonkin and it didnīt make us any wiser...why does Chomskey assume that it was impossible for 9/11 ro be an inside job just because someone would have to pay the price?

besides which, why do these pundits keep talking about Bush flying the planes? Can such bold critics of every other government policy not conceive on government infiltrators who can guide and arm and maybe even form dissident groups or individuals. egg them on, encourage them on, even supply funds and information and then at the last minute disappear, leaving their protogees to suffer the consequences...especially if all of them get killed in the process?

Itīs depressing that these pundits frame the message in such an obvious and dumb way as to make it seem like an impossible thing for our government, especially, to engage in such covert actions...even while Chomsky admits that the Unioted States and every other authoritarian regime in the world was thrilled by 9/11 because it presented them with the pretext they needed to crack down anyway.

Take the Kennedy assissination and our governmentīs reaction to it as well as the reaction of the people...in 1978 Congress opened another hearing into the murder of Kennedy and with new forensic evidence unaavilable before, decided that yes indeedy there WAS a second shooter but that these two assassins had acted independently of each other...that neither one knew the other had the same idea, at the same time, at the same place AND only a secons apart! It was a total coincidence! In this way, and only in this way, were they able to still insist that there was no CONSPIRACY...and the nation bought it!!!

As H.L. Menken said, "no one ever went broke understimating the intelligence of the American people"...amen.
