...out there are desperately hanging on in order to at least show signs of life in assyria. But assyria is on life-support...has been for some time. They've all exhausted themselves doing nothing more than telling other people what THEY ought to do....nothing has come of any of their plans and hopes...every once ina while Gewargis gives a speech somewhere people listen to politely (as he's very careful to only go where he can be assured of careful treatment) and three-star General Ashur Beth-Shlimon dusts off his Arabic articles written oh so long ago and posts them or send them to heads of state....and of course they curse the remaining Christians of Iraq for "selling out" never asking themselves who is the real sell-out; the one who stays despite everything or the one who runs away and lends his ass to the Westerners and helps buy them bombs and pay their soldiers so they can go kill their fellow-countrymen and women? Who's the REAL sell-out? Several assyrian forums have shut down because it became just too obvious that no one was paying any attention except the silly and over-young and bored who had nothing better to do and a few professionals who think to make themselves special once more by being a rare breed when the country is filled with ethnic Christians from all over the world.... They also hang on because it's just too hard to admit they lost...long ago. And we helped them lose and for that the Christian Iraqis can thank us. --------------------- |
