I would ask him for any evidence that Islam is a danger to the Christian West.

No douibt he would say something like, "why you silly ass...there´s evidence all around us which only a fool, such as yourself, could miss or willfully ignore because he is an Islam-lover." The last delivered with that arch supercillious sneer he´s perfected and which was once levelled at Jew-lovers and also Nigger-lovers..

If I persisted in asking for evidence he´d no doubt mention 9/11, Pakistan´s nuclear weapons, the Quran, fatwahs and so on...plus of course the 70 virgins and how Muslims will commit any crime if a virgin is at the end of it.

But, didn´t Nazis, and all those good Euros have equally plausible, to them, evidence of the dangers of Judaism...especially "world-wide Jewry"? In place of 9/11 didn´t they insist that Jews were a real threat to Germany, and to Christian maidens all over Europe...don´t Nazi apologists today claim that Germany was PROTECTING itslef from Jewish attacks and designs and plans for its destruction? Didn´t they also claim "evidence" about the threat of Judaism as convincing to them as 9/11 convinces Hitchens of the evils of Islam? Didn´t they also believe that Communism was a Jew invention? so that every act supposedly commited by a Bolshevik revolutionary, like the Reichstag fire supposedly was, was really an actual act of terror committed and inspired by Judaism?

And weren´t they as equally and self-righteously justified in their own minds, after suficiently distorting Judaism, and their own Christianity...to give themselves license to murder even Jewish children?

So...what is the difference, really, between what Christian nations are doing to Muslims today and what they did to Jews only 70 years ago?
