Or Jews....or Hottentots. Wait a minute, Hottentots DID...at one time. But it was outlawed.

You can imagine the self-righteous howls of outrage coming from Christians if Jews or Muslims had such a ritual in their religion. You can just hear them spouting about how this PROVES that Islam is a bloody and disgusting religion...or that they were justified in trying to wipe out Jews, or anyone else who practiced such things...and try telling Christians then that it was “only” symbolic. Minime wouldn’t let the subject drop...like he couldn’t get over virgins.

But, alas...it’s Christians who teach these things....so naturally they don’t want to hear about it or try to excuse it, even deny it.

Just try to imagine it from a non-Christian point of view. It’s nearly impossible, I know....but try.

In his volume “The Age of Reason Begins”, discussing the French, Will Durant has this passage....

“The peasants retained their faith, and honored the Christian code even when violating it; they might kill one another in passing ecstasy, they might diverge from monogamy when opportunity called and surveillance slept, but otherwise they led a tolerably decent life, heard Mass regularly, and at least once a year, consumed the body and blood of the Lord.”

Imagine how this would sound if it was describing the religion of anyone else. Durant is an ardent lover of Jesus Christ and believes the Christian religion did much good. I respect Jesus too but I think the Church has been a curse to humanity....whatever good individual Christians did they did in spite of their church, because many people are born and raised “good”, and not because of it. And, whatever natural or learned cruelty and greed there is in humans, the Church latched onto and exacerbated to meet its own organizational needs and worldly ends. For the rest it has been corrupting and terrorizing and rendering nearly brain-dead, and happily so, millions upon millions of innocent children for at least 1,500 years, trapped from birth in its clutches.

Durant isn’t being facetious when he describes good Christians as people who once a year “consumed the body and blood of the Lord”. He means it. That’s what good Christians do....in fact, it’s what Christians HAVE to do if they would enter paradise....at least two billion Christians believe it and the bible teaches it...for all of Minime’s hysteria.

There is something terribly rotten and dysfunctional at the core of this religion or any religion which teaches crimes...something too easy to call a contradiction, or flaw. And I don’t think it’s accidental either...no more than any gang initiation, made deliberately repulsive, is. Gang initiation is meant to corrupt a neophyte immediately....even before being accepted the newcomer has to enter the Gang besmirched, as it were. A club may require something innocuous like sharing blood ties through a self-inflicted cut and binding together with “brothers”...but violent gangs require acts that mark the candidate a criminal in the outside society he or she must therefore forever renounce. Murder, often random and senseless, is a usual extreme...or maybe rape. Certainly cannibalism and vampirism would fit the category of awful crimes. Whatever it is it has to be viewed as a crime by the rest of society from which the gang-member will be forever cut off and marked out and so forced into bondage with his fellow gang-members.
