..of tolerance for Jews...if for the past 1500 years they had defended, sheltered and allowed them the free worship of their religion...and then all of a sudden in 1939 began to hunt tham down with the stated intention of wiping them off the face of the earth and killing millions of men, women and children, weŽd all think they had either gone mad or Jews had done a terrible terrible thing. Well, history is replete with examples of the unbelievably cruel and inhumane treatment by Christians of a people who have contributed to the general welfare of the human race far above what their numbers should have indicated...the history is filled with pogroms, massacres, unwarranted attacks, stealing of children and crimes too well known and lengthy to list...so that the Holocaust should have come as a surprise to no one, shocking as it was. It was merely a step in the natural progression of Christian hatred for Jews just for their religion. And we wont even mention what Christians have done to other Christians. In contrast the record is equally clear that the one nation or empire on earth that gave freedom to worship, respect and protection to Jews (and Christians) was the Ottoman Empire....therefore if all of a sudden Christians begin screaming that Turks committed genocide or were massacring them, that they had ALWAYS hated and disrespected Christians etc....we should not find any evidence of that in their history...except for a period beginning with the first attacks against the Turks by the Russian Orthodox Christians whose armies invaded, occupied and murdered countless innocent Muslims and destroyed untold numbers of villages...also giving these stolen lands to Christians. The Turkish Christians, from the beginning, fought alongside the Christian invaders and profited by the lands and villages and homes they were given. This is history not fantasy. This was the real beginning of the treason from within on behalf of invading Christian nations which still goes on today...and it was the start of the souring of relations between Christians and the Ottomans...again, it was because of what the Christians DID that things changed for them and not merely because they were Christian, for they had been well protected and prospered for centuries before these first Christian invasions (since the Crusades). Such betrayal, over and over again, naturally earned Christian traitors the anger and distrust of their neighbors...and while it may be true that later Christians had to "defend" themselves against Muslim attacks...what they were really defending themselves against was their OWN treachery and the justifiable wrath is caused. This is so simple, so elemental that it explains why reasoning people have consistently refused to accept the label of genocide where the Turks are concerned. --------------------- |
