...It states on this page that all encyclopedic contents must be "verifiable". Having already seen that a wikivolunteer, himself an amateur, took it upon himself to call Dr Joseph, an accredited professional, professor and author on THIS subject, an amateur, I took it on upon myself to actually look up the word "verify" in an English-language dictionary, Merriam Webster to be exact...

ver·i·fy
verb ˈver-ə-ˌfī
transitive verb
1
: to confirm or substantiate in law by oath
2
: to establish the truth, accuracy, or reality of <verify the claim>

,,,so, the question is; how do you "establish the truth, accuracy, or reality of..."...in this case, the existence of modern Assyrians? Do you do it by "consensus"? If so, by a consensus among whom....other non-professional volunteers, or by sifting fairly and impartially among noted experts on this field, and not in ancillary disciplines?

I think you "verify" the truth of something by turning to experts on THAT something and not, as in this case relying on Assyriologists, ancient Persian experts or anyone else...and to prove this point you could also "verify" who can get a job teaching this subject at a university, when the subject is MODERN Middle Eastern history, which encompasses the time and place where modern Assyrians first burst onto the modern stage, and, if there is doubt as to that assertion, then why not explore what has been written, by scholars, on this very subject?.

Neither Parpola nor Frye have any books published by actual publishers in this field. They have their own area of professional expertise, and Dr Joseph has his. At the very least Dr Joseph's writings must be given equal and fair play, along with the non-professional and highly partisan views expressed here as if they were fact, alongside whatever else appears...that is the way to verify the truth of the matter. That is all I am attempting to do, and not by giving MY "opinions", but the facts as presented by several noted experts in this field. To leave Dr. Joseph out of the discussion is not to have a discussion at all, but a propaganda fest.
