I fully understand your point and appreciate your time and effort to clarify these issues. I have no objection on what you said except that it seems to me you have some restrictions on who is debating what. I think this is beyond your control and again I would ask you to pass on these debates as long as you see them inappropriate or not feasible to involve.

...you should follow your own advice...you should also apply your rules consistently...they ALL say they are being "open",,,yet they ALL defend their friends...they ALL say you have to be polite...and they ALL allow their firends to be impolite to their "enemies"''because they ALL believe their enemies deserve such treatment...it's all high-sounding words but when push comes to shove, you all fall flat...Jesus didn't say be kind when it's easy..he said do the right thing when it's RIGHT to do it...not just to your friends...do YOU love your enemies...hells bells you can't even TALK to them.

Having said that, I don’t know where you got the impression that this Forum is not dedicated for national debates. What is the ‘other agenda’ of this forum? Did you see any post disappear for any reason other than those rules mentioned by moderator? I would appreciate if you could pin point these posts if possible.

I think the problem with these forums (all) is something much bigger than having disagreements or inappropriate discussions. I think it became crystal clear that all debates were in vain and nothing can be accomplished from these debates because we are not ready for such advanced step.

..not so long as you treat people like children...the reason your "debates" as you call them get nowere is because you all START from the same place and merely spin your tires...several challenges, new ones, were made for people to consider..instead you all shout and run because there IS something different. We have a long way to go, it's true...but you're part of the problem and not the solution...you virtually no nuthin on your forum now...people don't wish to risk being deleted on your whims...you look at the wasteland you've created and conclude there is NOTHING to talk about...because YOU don't allow controversy...how many times can you 'debate" how wonderful Jesus is...or how great ADM is? You want praise...not debate.

The reason is not the sensitivity of the subject or any other reason except our readiness.

for the last 4 years or so we have discussed tens of issues or subjects but I dare any one to say that we reached any solid conclusion on any of them.

...neither did Socrates...neither has Western Civilization...you think of the human intellect as a cookie cutter..or a tape recording machine...open- ended discussion and exploration scares the shit out of you because it scares the shit out of your church...having had your intellect seared by ignorance and voodoo you actually think the damage done to your brain...your inexplicable fear of mere WORDS and IDEAS is somehow the "human condition",

The reason is either we disagree and fight, being in the weaker position, and eventually lose the debate or we opt not to concede even when proved wrong and in both cases we don’t reach any conclusion.

...we aren't looking for ANSWERS...we need to ask better QUESTIONS...we need to question our basic assumptionms...we need to test our pet beliefs for OURSELVES to see if they are valid or if they betray us...but your church considers that anathema...so all you have left is to repeat ad nauseum and then SUFFER for it!

We could go on the issues one by one and show me any conclusion been made on any of them. This is what I call failure and not any other thing.

The people debating here or on other forums were grown, born here or have lived for decades! Now, you say that these were living under dictatorship for many decades but shouldn’t that be your first reason to conduct mature discussions and express your opinion in civilized manner being eager to express your thoughts and not the reverse.

...you have no idea of what people GO through before they reach such a point...for decades American and British journalism was filled with hot words and scurrilous accusations...people were shot for their editorials..people have to GROW into maturity and complexity...you think by imposing rules of "politeness" you will MAKE people polite...you don't. They just learn to be hypocrites...they certainly aren't going to grow and become adept at anything with you people babysitting them.

If the case is as you said then why would we expect the Kurds, who were under the oppression for decades and scarified the most of all Iraqis, or any oppressed people to behave better than their oppressor?

...for the same reason we expected better from you...we expected you wouldn't resort to the same things...Saddam and every other tyrant has "rules"...every one of them will SAY all are welcome and then proceed to weed out those he doesn't like...that's the same thing you did ..only you think you're different because you were POLITE about it.
