Pilger is recognized the world over for his investigative journalism. It hosted a wide variety of international guest speakers involved in struggles all around the world and a record attendance of 925, cementing it as Australia's largest left wing political conference. The weekend featured over 60 sessions of discussion and debate on ideas to challenge capitalism in the midst of one of the worst economic crises in history and the shining inspiration of revolution across the Arab spring. Marxism 2013 will be held over the Easter Weekend of 2013, the 28th to the 31st of March in Melbourne, Australia.
