Joseph Danavi: It's almost as if Trump was correct in his forewarning that the purging of statues won't be limited to just confederates, but to any statue that a group objects to for whatever reason. Sad to see this ignorance and complacency at places of supposed "higher learning"

Fred Parhad: The people whose statues are causing the fuss are the people who were traitors to the United States, who attacked the people of the United States...are these people you wish to protect or promote?

Joseph Danavi: Unfortunately it's not just to the confederate statues, its anyone without a "political correct" past - like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Columbus and now our Assyrian history. This is the domino effect and why us purging relics of the confederate rebels will come right back to haunt all of us. Our ancestors would also not pass the leftists' litmus test of political and social correctness...and why our Queen is now controversial. Insanity....

Ninos Denkha: So a bunch of liberal gangs that were strengthened under the Obama administration, go around and demolish statues that they don't like and President Trump speaks against such actions, yet the liberal committee has the nerve to blame it on Trump's "atmosphere"?? Liberals destroying librety and blames the defenders of liberty for their actions. Now, I know liberals have no brain but really to this level you can't see this? Most likely what the issue is that there is someone in the university's liberal committee that doesn't like Assyrians and stood against this and blamed Trump for it. So again liberals fooling other liberals which will always be the case.

Denniz Joseph: I literally posted a question to Assyrians a month ago drawing parallels to what the left wants to do with Confederate monuments and our own statues and monuments. The question I asked was "Would you agree to pull down OUR statues in Iraq if Jews (whom we enslaved) deemed them to be insensitive?" Shockingly enough, a few of them were FOR the destruction of Confederate monuments but asked that Assyrian monuments not be touched. It's either a yes to both or a no to both. You can't pick and choose.

Fred Parhad: Leave us not get carried away. It's true that both Thomas Jefferson and Robert E. Lee owned slaves....but one built the country, the other declared war on it, resulting in over 600,000 dead Americans...there is a difference. We can understand and forgive both men for holding slaves at a time when it was acceptable to do so...but it has NEVER been acceptable for Americans to take up arms against the United States, nor will it ever be...it's called treason.

Fred Parhad: The Confederate monuments were not created at the end of the Civil War but mostly during the 1920s, a time of Jim Crow segregation and KKK violence...the aim was not to celebrate heroes of the Civil War but to intimidate Blacks who were fighting racism in the United States....there is no parallel whatsoever between those statues and Shamiram.

Denniz Joseph Unfair? Hah! My point was proven. Your argument is not based on any sort of logic, but feelings of fairness. Life is not fair. One nations hero is another nations oppressor. Our beloved kings and queens remain our heroes, but to other nations, they represent oppression, slavery, and more. The fact that you are not understanding this simple logic represents another issue.

Fred Parhad: Since your logic tells you life is unfair, stop bitching and moaning about your martyrs and what Turks supposedly did to your people. Life is like that.

Denniz Joseph: Elki Issa Oh you're one of those. Anyone who disagrees with you must be a Nazi. Must be a lot of Nazi's around you.

Elki Issa: Yeah, sadly, there are quite a few Assyrians who sympathize with Nazis and white supremacists around me. But, again, that's a whole other issue, and I don't want to hijack this thread with that.

Denniz Joseph: Fred Parhad I don't believe in bitching and moaning about what happened. I'm more focused on the now and the future. As an artist myself, I appreciate your work. And I respect you. But one can be a great artist and have bad ideas. And in this case, I agree with your art, but not your opinion on the current matters. The very ideology that you hold on to so dearly is the very ideology that is preventing your artwork from being showcased. Think about that. Identity politics, Marxism, the alt-left put this obstacle in front of you. Not Trump.

Denniz Joseph: Elki Issa Quite a few Assyrians who sympathize with Nazi's? Really? Please create a list and name them. I will personally shame them for you. But if that list turns out to be purely conjecture, then I will make sure that you're shamed for making up false accusations simply because you can't handle disagreement. You are also defaming Assyrians around the world by making up such puffery. Listen, as a fellow Assyrian, it breaks my heart to know that you were radicalized at some liberal arts school a long time ago. I'm trying to reason with you, but if all you've got is "Nazi Nazi Nazi!" then we won't achieve any progress.
