...in a lengthy and very boring but meant-to-impress-village-peasants article on a proposed study to back up all her prejudices Maggie reveals just what the difference is between getting into Turlock College vs. Princeton. She's inordinantly proud of NOT getting into Princeton, and I can see why. ...like Dadeeshoo she is long on rhetoric and very short on logic. Her study is supposed to back up everything she claims before even starting it. It's like a Klan member designing questions that will prove Blacks aren't human after all and not as good as whites... ...the classic error of the over-eager sociology student is conducting "studies" whose results are absolutely meaningless in terms of anything you can expect to be DONE with them. She wants to "study" whether or not "Assyrians deserve Assyria"....she has a questionaire that asks, "Do you think you deserve Assyria?"...this will be asked of every Assyrian who thinks he deserves Assyria. If by some error someone sneaks into her sample who doesn't think they do, that person will be banned from the study...if she can't conduct an honest forum she won't do any better at "research". ...so when her results are tabulated and evryone who thinks they deserve an Assyria has had his answer recorded....she's going to do exactly what with the results? ...xactly. But it will be "scientific"...and Gaby Kiwarkis will be dooooly impressed. I'm afriad now that Zack Cherry might prove to be the same kind of Assyrilogist as Maggie will be a sociologist. ...I still don't understand where these people got the unique and bizzare notion that if you can prove something...you get it. The whole world now knows, if it didn't before, that Iraq was invaded on policies based on torture and lies...there's mo doubt whatsoever in anyone's mind...Iraqis don't need a "study" to "prove" such a thing. Would it do them any good if they had? Is the world sorry for what it's still doing? hell no. So why will the world feel sorry for Maggie and what she thinks she's owed? No answer is forthcoming from Assyria...as long as the martyr-making machinery is running at full speed, Assyria feels it has a chance. --------------------- |
