he thinks he's on to something profound when he champions joke-telling as a necessary and harmless pastime....and he's right most often...people who deserve to be made uncomfortable SHOULD be made uncomfortable.....but not people who are already uncomfortable and dying from it....someone may have his eye put out in a hilarious manner...say because of a pratfall, or slipping on a banana peel...and we know we shouldn't laugh but we can't help it because it IS funny, even if blindness comes at the end...but we have a lingering sense that we shouldn't have laughed....

and when laughter is a part of bullying, is it JUST humor?

We have been killing and torturing Muslims and Muslim children, 700,000 of whom we starved to death, for about 40 years now....where's the humor? Why would you even THINK of making jokes about Muslims and their suffering?

I'm sure there were jokes about Jews in Germany in 1939.....but, really, while they were being dragged to the ovens? really? In fact, come to think of it, the Germans DID find such things funny...stripping elderly and young Jewish women naked and then making them run around was funny to them....Maher would have fit right in.
