A safe haven for Assyrians is a must – NOW!

...why? When Iraqis don't have a safe-haven...thanks to Christian nations...why "must" A Christian minority get one?

The Assyrians are a Christian people

...they are not...the Assyrians are an ASSYRIAN people...Jews are not a Buddhist people..they are a JEWISH people

with a history of several millennia in today’s Iraq. This people, which during the 20th century has had to endure several religiously and nationalistically motivated massacres and a genocide, is now threatened by final annihilation in the chaos and anarchy that prevails in Iraq.

...no it isn't and no it hasn't. Semele was not genocide..it was payback for the treachery of the Levies and the Assyrians Iraq TOOK IN when they were chased out of Iran. The only genocide on earth was brought to us by Christians and directed against the Jews...the 750,000 Assyrians supposedly killed during the First World War were, in your own words when refering to the Christian children killed by Christians in Iraq..."collateral damage"..had European Christians NOT declared a unilateral war against Turkey there would have been no hostility between the Turkish Christian population and the Ottoman empire...over 600,000 Iraqi children under the age of five have been murdered by the Christian United States...since they don't matter to it and to you, don't be surprised when your 750,000 don't matter to the Turks.

It is therefore of utmost importance that the international community
immediately establishes a safe haven for the Christian Assyrians within four minor districts in northern Iraq, which bear a strong Assyrian identity.

YOU think it is...the international community has other problems to deal with which they consider more important..this international community you address stood by when over 600,000 Iraqi children under the age of five were starved to death...this international community made of Christian nations has turned its own guns on each other' s Christians often enough....killing over 50 million Christians in two world wars...this international community has shown itself most willing to ignore the murder of millions upon millions and to kill millions ITSELF...I think they're busy and not interested.

This would also be in accordance with earlier expressed ambitions to protect minorities, like the Kurds have been protected.

..the Kurds weren't "protected" for humanitarian reasons but supported as a foil to warring Muslim factions...dividing Iraq into three warring factions was in the interest of the United States....they aren't interested in people who are "just like Jesus"...they want allies who are "just like" Genghis Khan.

It has been decided to protect the Assyrians in an own administrative region, but the Iraqi government has not implemented this decision.

..it was decided by YOU...not by anyone else...not by anyone in Iraq. Whatever this present set of puppets has decreed will be undone just as soon as the Americans leave...their officials will be hunted down and killed for collaborating with the enemies of Iraq...be careful you don't fall into that category..or worse yet, that you don't set up your "dear people in Iraq".

As citizens of modern day Iraq the Assyrians have unconditioned and loyally strived to develop the country and to preserve it’s rich multiethnic history.

...the Muslim Assyrians have...you Christians have told the world that Iraq is an illegal and illegitimate government of Arab usurpers...and then you begged the Americans to come SAVE you from them...they came alright...but they "saved" the Kurds instead and now you don't know WHAT to say!

The reason for this indigenous people now being in need of protection is that it is a small and vulnerable group without its own clan and militia movements.

..that was the case under Saddam and nowhere near the number of people were being killed then as are being today...today after the American Christians "liberated" Iraq...how does it feel to be LIBERATED? And now you're asking the SHI'AA to give you something??? What happened to your Christian Liberators? Why don' t you ask them...again?

The fact that the Assyrians have a different religion and ethnicity than the majority population makes them more exposed to attacks, particularly by the Islamic militias.

...no it doesn't...and it never did. Christians are being killed today for COLLABORATING and not for their religion...Muslim collaborators are ALSO being killed...no one is being killed for their religion but for what they DO! You were NEVER persecuted for your reliion...you were prosecuted for what you DID and SAID...when either was illegal...like you would have been in any Christian country.

Assyrians are being murdered, kidnapped and driven off their properties daily.

...no they aren't or we would hear about DAILY! I don't mean we'd hear you making these claims "daily"...you do that by the hour...I mean we'd hear about it in some legitimate news releases.

This hunt strikes all Assyrians indiscriminately, regardless of social status, gender or age.

..it isn't a hunt...it never was a hunt, not where we're concerned...someone is hunting ALL Iraqis and that someone is foreign CHRISTIANS!

Everyone, from elected politicians to religious leaders, is a living target. They are defenseless against this ethnic and sectarian violence. Nowhere in today’s Iraq are the Assyrians safe and protected.

...no one is safe and protected in Iraq...this violence wasn't brought to the country by Muslims or Iraqis or Saddam..it was brought by Christians...with YOUR blessings!

More than 600 000 Assyrians have since 2003 been murdered, chased away or just disappeared.

..that's a lie...you make these figures up as you need them.

A humanitarian disaster is evolving into a new genocide in our times.

...calm down. Climb down from the ceiling...adjust your garters and try to talk rationally.

This problem has also been recognized by the Iraqi government. Article 121 of the Iraqi constitution of 2005 opens up for an Assyrian autonomy.

..that isn't an "Iraqi" document...it was put together by Paul Bremmer and Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld..it isn't worth anything and it will be done away with just as soon as the foreign attackers go back to their countries and go to church.

With today’s demographic picture, the following coherent districts: Hamdaniya, Telkaif, Sumel och Rizgary in the Nineveh plain of northern Iraq should be established as an own jurisdiction to protect the Christian Assyrians.

...who is going to protect you....YOU?

This area constitutes about 5 % of the total Iraqi territory. The area is demographically dominated by Assyrians and is called Assyrian Administrative Region (AAR). But article 121 has not been implemented yet..

...and it won't be. The Archbishop of Canterbury isn't coming to save you either and there is no tooth fairy....but be GOOD and Santa may leave you something.

The international community has previously shown determination to act in e.g. northern Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan. When the Kurdish minority in Iraq was threatened, a safe haven was created to protect them.

..no it wasn't..the Kurds were USED by the Americans for their OWN purposes...have you learned NOTHING?

The patterns from earlier persecutions and genocide are repeated, since the oppressors in a well-planned manner eliminate the Assyrian intelligentsia,

..there is no well planned manner...thousands of Iraqis were killed just last month...how many Assyrians were killed in that month?...while you are wailing to the world to recognize YOUR "troubles"..the world is ignoring the troubles of thousands MORE victims than you...if they can ignore the one, they can ignore the other...and they are...or haven't you noticed?

in order to expel a whole nation from its homeland.

..this Christian inspired war has chased people out...ALL people..our people have been in Iraq for thousands of years..they were NEVER driven out by the Iraqis..on the contrary Iraq openned its borders and let them IN...and saved them...

The international community must take its responsibility and provide a safe haven for the Assyrians.

...you must take responsibillity for YOURSELVES one of these days...the international community never did anything for anyone...read a book.

The risk of a large scale refugee wave with fateful consequences for the Assyrians will otherwise be a reality.

...no one in the international community cares.

Is the international community prepared to be held morally responsible for not having prevented a genocide?

...the international commiunity has waltzed its way through all sorts of horrendous crimes...including the Holocaust which this international community of your's BROUGHT to the world. How old are you?

We demand

...tell us something new....

1-That the international community without further delay establishes a safe haven for the Christian Assyrians in the abovementioned area,

..never happen. If the CHRISTIAN United States, leading the pack, did NOTHING for you till now...you STILL think they will "save" you?

2- That an international force in cooperation with Assyrian parties is given the mandate to maintain law and order and guarantee security in this free zone, and

...dream on...the first thing you would do with guns is turn them on each other.

3- That the rights of the Assyrians as citizens are protected by the Iraqi constitution.

...they always were...only now you have a SHI'AA majority in power...nice going.
