....people still think Fascism means funny mustachios and weird marching...shouting and ranting thugs in street fights...they don't realize it's entered universities and churches, well, is was always in the church, and board rooms...when the Nazis demanded the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia in order to "defend" the Germans living there from Czech "terror" and then after getting it, and then deciding to take the rest and then Poland too, at least the world was shocked and angered....but that was then....now, when the United States and its Christian allies decided to attack Iraq, again on the pretext of protecting someone from "terror", no one said a word...the same world stood by and watched, or joined in.

What happened from then to now? What happened is that the rest of us have gone to work for Fascism in a big way...we are told that jobs jobs jobs can only come from the big Fascists and, well, we don't want to starve do we? Somehow our piddling lives and silly salaries have become tied up with Fascism in a way we never thought of before....we actually can't afford to speak up, to demand change, because as soon as we do we're threatened with losing those miserable jobs...the funny thing is we're going to lose them anyway, eventually.

This whole system of chaining people to the machines that make their "lives" possible and under the control of those who own the machines is unsustainable....it's already pretty miserable and not functioning well....if it wasn't for the "socialism" the Repubs pretend to decry, we'd all be a lot worse off, and so would they and they KNOW it....we're being "kept"....we don't live.

And the best part, the funniest part, is that we supposedly have it in our power to change the equation...our society is suffering from lots of things, one of which is starvation wages while the bosses get richer and richer...you'd think we'd want to change that, you'd think...but again Fascism steps in with its slick news shows and advertisements and scares us into believing that a dollar more an hour will destroy us all.

Millions of dollars more to one individual is what makes this country "great" and makes life possible...but one dollar more to millions of people will destroy everything.

Where does that extra dollar go but BACK into the pockets of our bosses? Do we eat the dollar...do we burn it...do we go on vacation with it and spend it somewhere else? No...that dollar goes to the same conglomerate that makes our food, our furniture, provides our gas and heating oil...give us that extra dollar and they'll get it right back! All that dollar does is travel THROUGH us and back to them, only it makes our life a little bit easier, and the lives of our children a little more pleasant....but they get it back in the end, so why all the fear-mongering?

Why? Just because of that extra little ease...because people who feel warm and cozy and secure start thinking, they always have....as soon as they can leave off worrying about what to feed their children the next day, they begin to wonder about clean water and clean air...about making the place they live more pleasant...maybe fixing potholes and removing blight or protecting the environment...and THAT will cost more dollars and THAT's what Fascism is afraid of....miserable and scared people are automatically strangling THEMSELVES...you don't have to do it to them...they will narrow their own lives, demand less, all on their own because they have no time for the refinements, just the basics.

But that won't work either...history shows that people will rise up...only trouble is that when they do, after decades of suppression, of themselves and by others, they go too far in the other direction...and then everybody loses.

But Fascists, more than anything else, are stupid. You can sort of understand why people poor and miserable and scared don't think straight...but what excuse do the rich and powerful have for having such a limited view of life and humanity?...they supposedly "have it all" and this...this, is all they can do with it?

...dear NSA...come and get me....I'm THINKING again.
