There were a few subjects mentioned on here in the recent days and I had no chance to reply. I will try my best to briefly touch on the points that were mentioned on here mostly by this "Rico Suave" individual. First of all, this person, either out of ignorance or intentionally, tried to apply the history of Christianity with Islam and this is false. He climed that the Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) committed crimes in the name of religion and this is completely false. The Prophet did not do anything illegal but only defended his followers after 13 years of persecution and injustice. There is no crime in self defense as long as things are not taken to extreems. The records and even the writings of non-Muslim historians prove the good character, honesty and just manners of the Prophet. There are even books written by harsh critics of the prophet and often prejudice writers, yet even their works indicate about the beautiful character of the prophet. You also stated Islam was started with blood and that is not true at all. Islam started and has always been the simple statement of "there is only one God" or "la ilaha ila Allah". This is the basic message of Islam and this is how it came about. However, since these are not just mere words, the Arab pagans began persecuting the early converts to this new religion. They first began torturing and beating them up in the streets. After this, they began killing and robbing them. They were eventually kicked out from Mecca and had their homes, proprties and businesses stolen. Even after all this, they continued to fight the Muslims in Madina and it was after 13 years of patiently enduring the injustice that they were finally given permission to fight back. The first verse ever revealed to the prophet about combat was the following "fight in the way of God those who fight against you but do not yourslelves commit aggression: God does not love the aggressors"(Quran 2:190). This verse was first and there are 8 verses in the entire Quran which pertain to warfare and all of them are in this context. Even in war, Muslims have many conditions to follow. Thirdly, the jizya was mentioned again and it was called "barbaric" I like to clarify that it is not barbaric but rather just and reasonable. There is nothing wrong with a non-Muslim paying jizya in an Islamic state in which they are entitled to things in return. I don't need to go into details because brother Pancho already has mentioned Jizya. However, there are now reports by Fred Aprim, Zinda and other silly sources that Christians in Iraq are being harrassed for jizya. These claims are not proven except just uttered by the above. For any Muslims to demand jizya, there has to be a proper Islamic state and there isn't one. Iraq has been without a stable government for 7 years and it is natural that there will be thieves, thugs, robbers, kinappings, etc. America has a stable govenrment yet we still see a lot of violence so why would Iraq be different? Far more Muslims have been robbed, kinapped, murdered, raped, etc. More mosques have been destroyed and Muslims in Iraq have suffered even more. In any case, there are no persecutions of xtians in Iraq but they live with same dangers as any Iraqi. As for the church bombings, there is no evidence that it was Muslims. However, we have cases in which American and British soldiers dressed in Arab clothing were caught doing things and it is possible that CIA or Blackwater is behind it. --------------------- |
